The
development of technology has been creating a modern way in shopping. Online
shopping is a new tendency and a modern style to shop. Online store provides
products that consumer needs, such us: clothes, shoes, cosmetics, girl’s
accessories, electronic products, bags, or even foods. Nowadays, consumers are
increasingly shopping through the internet. I am one of so many people in this
universe who fond of shopping online. It is because of online stores are
usually available in 24 hours, so I can shop everytime I want. Besides, I do
not need to go to the shop directly, purchasing face-to-face; I just do the
transaction through the internet. Visiting a conventional retail store requires
travel and might take place during the business or study hours. In addition, I
can choose the store that I like all over the world through the internet
without depending on the local retailer or stores. It gives me the opportunity
to seek out deals quickly for items with many different vendors or retailer. If you want to be an online shopper, here are
some tips you have to consider.
To begin with, before
purchasing anything from an online store, make sure that it is secured, so that
you will be able to avoid the frauds that plague the Web. Also, see to it that
its transaction page has an “https:” instead of an “http:” as prefix on its
domain name. Next, get to know the seller or the store’s reputation. You need
to know their contact details in case something goes wrong; a reputable
business should make this information easy to find. Is the store you’re going
to visit reputable enough? Remember, a reputable online store usually has a
good feedback to consumers. During this stage, you also have to consider about
your budget. You would better have a limitation or maximum budget before you
buy anything online in order to avoid wasting your money.
After making sure about
some steps above, you need to decide what you want to buy and focus on what you
want to buy. It means that what you are going to buy is something that you
really need instead of what you really want. This step is helpful to minimize
your cost. I suggest you to shop arround to compare the product and the price on
different sites. You may ask questions and ask for pictures, so you know what
you are getting. In addition, you need to consider the features and other
specification by looking to the product’s specification carefully, such as: material,
size, model, dimensions, condition, age, functions, and etc. If you are unsure
about something, ask the seller for more detail before committing yourself;
make sure that it is exactly what you want. Sometimes, you need to double-check
the item’s true condition, so that you know exactly what you are buying.
Now, you already found
any items that you really need. What you need to consider next is about the
terms and policy, including the shipping, return policy, payment, and delivery process.
Sometimes, the lowest price is a great deal because it does not include
shipping, so that you do not need to pay too much for buying more than one item
because you just pay one shipping cost for all the items you buy. Then, check
your total cost. The next one, you need to know whether the shop has a return
policy or not. In other word, the shop can replace the item with the new one if
something goes wrong or maybe the item condition is bad. If paying
electronically, make sure that the seller uses a secure payment system that
encrypts your financial details. If you pay by credit card and you do not
receive the product or service, contact your bank and ask them to reverse an
unauthorised charge. You also need to be sure that the store offers first-class
delivery service. Doing so will ensure that you will receive the item in the
same condition as promised. The next step is to keep all copies document with
you.
Although
the benefits of online shopping are considerable like what I have explained
above in the first paragraph, but when the process goes poorly it can create a
thorny situation. Some troubles that consumer potentially facing are identity
theft, faulty product, and a fraud. Consumers are at higher risk of fraud or
cyber crime when shooping online. In conclusion, shopping online actually can
be fun and interesting only if you have considered about those steps above such
as: making sure about the page transaction has an “https:”, knowing the store’s
reputation, checking your budget, deciding and focusing on what you want to
buy, comparing the product from one to another shop, considering the feature
and other specification of the product, considering the shipping, return
policy, payment, and delivery process. Do it properly then you will enjoy shopping
online.
